Define peer pressure. Think of a time when it happened to you or someone you know and explain the situation in a paragraph.
PEER PRESSURE-something that your peers/people pressure you to do something you don't think is right or want to do.

•I know a friend that was peer pressured to do drugs. He hung out with people older than him. They were into that stuff and he wasn't. They asked him one day to do the drugs with them after school. He didn't know what to do. He called me and asked me what to do. I told him to walk away don't hang with people like them.

"Wipeout"
Think of another, book, movie or comic(exc) in which people use hover boards. How are they used? If possible, post a video of this.
I've seen it on Fantastic Four the silver surfer. This one guy is on a board and it gives him powers and evil stuff.
Why do you think the new pretties don't come back to Uglyville to visit? Describe their physical and mental transformation into new pretties.
They don't visit because it isn't perfect to talk to ugly people.
They go from and elephant to Beyonce.

"Shay"
Write one paragraph summary of the chapter.
Tally is hiding in a bush when she sees a figure and gets scared. Later, she finds out it's an ugly hidding . Tally finds out the Uglies name is Shay.

What have you learned about Shay? Is she like Tally? Make a prediction about what will happen between Tally and Shay.
I think that Tally and Shay are going to become best friends because they're both uglies and they're both daredevils.

"Best Friends Forever"
Why do you think New Pretty town advocates bungee jumping?
They probably want to do something cool now that they're pretties and don't have to follow the rules.

Info on Bungee Jumping:
Bungee has quite an old origin. The idea of this way of jumping comes from the ancient ritual "Gkol" performed in the Pentecost Island in the Pacific Archipelago of Vanuatu. The legend says that in the village Bunlap a man called Tamalie had a quarrel with his wife and she ran away and climbed a Banyan tree where she wrapped her ankles with liana vines. When Tamalie came up to her, the woman jumped from the tree and so did her husband not knowing what had his wife done. So he died but the woman survived. The men of Bunlap were very impressed by this performance and they began to practise such jumps in case they got in similar situation. This practice transformed into a ritual for rich yam harvest and also for proving manhood.

"Best Friends Forever"
Tally: Is an ugly,15 years old, very worried about doing stuff.
Peris:Is a pretty, 16 years old, doesn't care much for the UGLIES.

How do you feel about the friendship of Tally and Peris? Are they true best friends? Why or why not?
Tally: Is an ugly, 15 years old, wears an interface ring.
Peris: Is a pretty, 16 years old, friend of Tally.
They probably are best friends because Peris still cares about her even though she's an ugly.

Find and quote one oxymoron from the chapter or ONe example of irony(quote it directly)
"safety sparkler"
Why do you think Tally chose to wear a mask to the party that was deemed "white tie"?
I think that she didn't want people to see her face.

History of Masks:
Masks generally are worn with a costume, often so complete that it entirely covers the body of the wearer. Fundamentally the costume completes the new identity represented by the mask, and usually tradition prescribes its appearance and construction to the same extent as the mask itself. Costumes, like the masks, are made of a great variety of materials, all of which have a symbolic connection with the mask's total imagery. Ideally the costume should be seen with the mask while the wearer is in action.
